Established in 1868, this authentic Japanese-style inn inheriting the tradition and culture of Matsuyama comes complete with a Noh stage where guests can enjoy captivating traditional performances every day. Only a minute on foot from one of the oldest hot spring facilities in Japan, the Dogo Onsen Honkan, Yamatoya Honkan accommodates first timers to even the seasoned travelers alike.

[Hot Spring]
Dogo Onsen is mentioned in 'Nihon Shoki', the second oldest historical record of ancient Japan, and is said to be the oldest hot spring in the country. The alkaline spring is known for its high beatifying effect on skin.

[Guest Room]
All guest rooms feature Sukiya-zukuri architecture (a type of Japanese architecture based on tea house aesthetics) and Juraku walls. Experience the sense of space and lighting calculated to create a relaxing ambience.

[Noh Stage Experience]
Get up on stage and learn from the Noh instructor about the traditional theatrical form, starting from the structure of the stage to the details of the masks. Participants will also have the chance to play some of the instruments. This can only be experienced at Yamatoya Honten.
