Maison Muda formerly called Muda House,is a stylish open concept affordable boutique heritage homestay pre-war shophouse for today's 'flash packer' perfectly located in the heart of old George Town's UNESCO World Heritage core zone. Previously used as a gallery for displaying handmade tiles for use in heritage restoration and local handicrafts. House Features Include:
- A spectacular display of hand made, heritage design cement tiles in the ground floor dining hall.
- A beautifully traditional shophouse facade with large signboard, tiled five footway and wooden shutters.
- Third level ( mezzanine ) includes a unique jack roof feature affording views out over the traditional v-shaped terracotta roof tiles, increased sunlight and great air circulation.
- A fabulous back courtyard for sitting while enjoying breakfast, a cup of coffee or planning your next adventure out on the historic streets of George Town.
- Beds on all 3 levels of the house ( including a convertible sofa on the ground floor ) for elderly guests who prefer not to climb stairs or for anyone who wishes to avoid the air-con available on the next 2 levels.

Situated in a small lane adjacent to the famous Street of Harmony and perched on the edge of Little India, Maison Muda is perfectly located for exploring all the highlights George Town has to offer. There are many other notable attractions nearby including the vibrant Goddess of Mercy Temple ( Kuan Yin ), fantastic restaurants and street hawker food, a traditional Toddy Shop ( Kedai Tuak ) where you can try fresh local fermented coconut wine and the famous Joss Stick Maker, Mr. Lee ( considered to be one of Penang's living legends ), lives directly across the road.
A 3 minutes walk brings you to Chulia Street where you can sample famous Penang street food such as Wantan Mee, Curry Mee, Char Koay Teow and delicious Yam Cakes.
