Sri Mathie was completely renovated in 2004/5. The old part of the house was restored with loving care to its early 1900s roots, and equipped with period light fittings and antiques. An inner court yard with three bedrooms and new facilities were also added.

A large mango tree welcomes you at the entrance. A wrap-around porch provides the ideal location to view more than 20 species of indigenous birds (more during periods of migration). The fragrance of jasmine and temple tree flowers fill the air throughout the year.

Sri Mathie Villa, featuring four large bedrooms and a separate bungalow, can accommodate up to four couples plus children. Bookings are for the entire house only. although individual room bookings are possible if the villa is not let. Occupancy is limited to four couples.

Nature walks, bicycling, visiting local temples and historic sites of interest, bird watching and photography, star gazing with a well-equipped telescope, whale watching, ocean and land safaris.

Or using Sri Mathie as a home base for day-long excursions and/or for your stay in the southern region.
