About This Hotel
Stunning 2-ensuite beds, Cathedral view roofgarden
A two bedroom penthouse apartment with private roof garden. Eclectic, fun, playful, relaxing, rustic, kooky; The Taylor Suite is a unique and restful retreat that plays subtle homage to Truro local and famous Queen drummer, Roger Taylor. Sleeps 6 in two double beds, and one double sofa bed.
Found right at the top of this beautiful townhouse, our two-bedroomed apartment plays subtle homage to Truro local and famous Queen drummer, Roger Taylor. Alongside legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, the band were at the height of their fame in the 1970’s and early 80’s.
Luckily for all of us, some of the most recognised hallmarks of interior styles from this era include yellow and green tones, natural and rustic materials, plush velvets, macrame and lots of plants and greenery. Fear not, our plan is not to subject you to orange stripes and garish floral armchairs, but rather to envelop you in a comforting cocoon of nature (together with a playful sprinkle of music and Queen references, naturally…)
Eclectic, fun, playful, relaxing, rustic, kooky; The Taylor Suite is a unique and restful retreat that we think you’ll love.
This home-from-home makes extensive use of a natural colour palette and natural materials throughout; pine floors and oak worktops in the kitchen, dining and living space, wood-effect tiles in the bathrooms, macrame plant hangers, bamboo lights, rattan chairs, a jute pouffe, the list goes on.
To top all this off (actually quite literally!), a set of winding stairs takes you up to your very own secret rooftop terrace. This hidden space comes complete with a walk-on roof lantern (guaranteed to be a hit with the kids) above your kitchen! The roof garden features two armchairs, perfect for enjoying a chat and a tipple in comfort, plus a dining table and benches to enjoy al-fresco dining. The rooftop views over the cathedral are breath-taking.
Down below, the comfortable apartment accommodates 5-6 guests over two bedrooms.
The main bedroom sits at the front of the building and faces the magnificent architecture of Lemon Street, with blinds over a large Georgian window and a comfortable king-size bed.
The bathroom can be used as an en-suite or can be shared with any guests using the small double sofa bed in the lounge.
The second bedroom is to the rear of the apartment and is lit by an impressive roof window. It also offers a king-size bed and dressing table and boasts its own en-suite bathroom.
The oak and glass dining table in the communal area seats four comfortably, though two further wall-hung folding chairs can be brought into play to accommodate a fifth or sixth guest. The kitchen is sleek and modern, with a roof light bringing extra light streaming into the space.
The Taylor Suite offers a quirky and fun city retreat suitable for up to six guests, and absolutely perfect for Roger Taylor and Queen fans. This is one of our most popular apartments, so don’t hesitate to book your stay. We would love to welcome you.
There is a convenient loading bay directly opposite the apartments which allows you 10 minutes to load and unload your bags, before moving your vehicle to a longer-term spot.
There are plenty of parking options nearby. Lemon Street itself offers only on-street stays restricted to one hour by day, though you can easily park outside on-street all night between 5pm and 9am.
Otherwise, your best option is a four-minute walk away at Moorfield Multi-Storey car park, which is £8.20 for 24 hours and free in the evenings. Lemon Quay parking is slightly nearer but more expensive and please note that this carpark is not 24hours.
It’s also worth noting that once in Truro, it is easy to get around on foot and on the convenient bus, train and ferry routes, so you may just choose to park your car for the duration and enjoy the freedom of being without one.
The Apartments are well-situated on the prestigious Lemon Street, which is home to several restaurants and cafes, the quirky Lemon Street market, the Cinema, and an art gallery. It’s a fabulous street for browsing and soaking up Cornish culture. The town centre is one street over and offers a renowned range of highly-rated independent restaurants, shops and bars, plus all the usual high street favourites. You can’t fail to be impressed by the stunning cathedral. Slightly further afield is the beautiful village of Malpas, with The Heron (a local’s favourite pub) and exquisite walks along the river.
As a city centre location there is plenty of parking available, with the nearest being an NCP multi-story a 2 minute walk away.
If it’s the coast you are craving, you’re in luck! A 15 minute drive north will take you to a truly stunning trio of beaches: Perranporth, which has the UK’s only pub on a beach, Porthtowan with its expanse of deserted golden sand, and Trevaunance Cove on the shores of St Agnes, a quirky Cornish town where you will find surf schools, cafes, pubs selling local ales, and boutique after boutique stocked with local jewellery, art, baked goods and culinary delicacies. Each of these gorgeous beaches give access to miles and miles of stunning coastal walks.
