400 sq ft Private terrace suite room situated on the 2nd floor is big and comfortable with king size bed and an 8 inch mattress. The terrace outside the room is a great place to chill or absorb the mesmerizing beauty of the Aravalli mountain range or just have a peaceful introspection. Going forward with world sustainability initiatives our house is powered by solar energy, all vegetables are grown on site with organic farming methods and the milk is from our own cow “Gauri”.
One of the summer evenings I was having tea in the garden with my wife Himmat. It was one of those ritualistic tea after returning from the cacophony at work. It was our favourite moment of the day, soaking in the peace and serenity alongside our usual companions ‘Mithoo’ the parrot who would come to eat the sweetest figs from our garden and ‘Gauri’, our cow with her calf mooing us to come and meet her.
When I headed inside after a relaxed evening, a wondering accompanied me, "How do I share this precious gift with others?" The question answered itself. In fact, it became an image. How would it be to open up this humble abode to guests and give them a truly natural and organic experience? That evening, Himmat and I were standing at the terrace and soaking in the splendid sunset, inspiration struck. The image, so undefined until then, started becoming clear. Wide strokes seemed to make their presence prominent in our minds. Himmat’s Abode, a humble homestay, was conceived that day.
Himmat’s abode, a humble homestay is a house inspired by Haveli style architecture. Conceptualised, designed and built under our closed supervision, more than a hundred carpenters, craftsmen and artisans from the region have worked tirelessly along with us, over two years to make our dream a reality. Himmat has personally designed everything from the colour schemes and combinations to the last door knob and curtain holder.
Though traditional in architecture and setting, we are modern in our outlook. Keeping in mind the requirement of modern day guests all care has been taken to provide the most comfortable yet natural experience. Himmat’s Abode holds two sets of a two room, living area and a kitchen for a family vacation or a group of pals exploring Udaipur. We also have a magnificent terrace suite overlooking the skyline of Udaipur which in our case is the Aravalli mountain range and a single family room on the ground floor. Going forward with world sustainability initiatives our house is powered by solar energy, all vegetables are grown on site with organic farming methods and the milk is from our own cow “Gauri”.
