Braemar Youth Hostel is housed in a former shooting lodge in extensive grounds in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. It offers a mix of traditional interiors and modern furnishings, offering an ideal base for outdoor activities and exploring Royal Deeside, the Cairngorms, Glenshee and The Lecht. The hostel has a lounge with sofas, a large self-catering kitchen and a dining room. The youth hostel also provides a good range of rooms including many private and dorms. Local activities include skiing and snowboarding at Glenshee and The Lecht, while Balmoral Castle and the surrounding estate are open during the summer months. You can also visit many distilleries nearby. Dogs are now welcome at Braemar when booking private room. A small fee of GBP 5 per dog per night will be charged. Please note that all dogs must be booked in advance to ensure that a dog friendly room is allocated. Hostelling Scotland is a charity and membership organisation.
