A 20-minute drive from Snow Monkey Park and located right in front of Shiga Kogen Ski Resort, the entirely non-smoking Aspen Shiga boasts an indoor hot-spring bath, a fireplace lounge and a breakfast with homemade bread. Free Wi-Fi is provided at the entire property, and rooms are Japanese-style. Guests at Aspen Shiga Lodge sleep on a traditional tatami (woven-straw) floor in futon bedding. All rooms come with heating facilities and have a flat-screen TV and green tea. Some rooms have a private toilet, and guests bathe at the shared hot-spring baths. A free pick-up service is offered from Hasuike bus stop, a 5-minute drive away, and guests should call upon arrival to use the shuttle. Yakebitaiyama Ski Resort is a 20-minute drive from the lodge. Guests can enjoy the surround nature at Shiga Kogen Highlands, which is registered as an UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Ski equipment hire and storage are offered in the winter, and you can enjoy barbecues in warm weather. Fishing is possible nearby.
