About This Hotel

Taiza Onsen Sumihei

Located on a hill in a quiet fishing town, this small hotel has a total of 16 guestrooms.
Guests will find the area surrounded by the natural elements of mountain and sea for quaint countryside scenescapes.
This hotel has a long history and was established in the 1860s. Now it retains the olden day atmosphere while updating facilities to meet modern comforts. Here guests can experience ryokan, tatami, Japanese food, yukata and other forms of Japanese culture.
Wi-Fi is available in the lobby, and internet routers are available for free rental to use in the guestrooms (4 available, first-come first-served).

All guestrooms face the expansive Sea of Japan for a spectacular sunset view in the evening.
Choose your desired guestroom type from detached villa-type rooms featuring natural hot spring open-air baths, Western-style beds, and regional architecture, special rooms with natural hot spring open-air baths and Western-style beds, or normal Japanese-style guestrooms with futon bedding.
The Mizunoaya special room (Japanese/Western-style room with attached open-air bath), Tamayura special room (Japanese/Western-style room with attached open-air bath), and Hakuin (Japanese/Western-style room on the top floor) were all renovated in the fall of 2014.
The spectacular scenery of the Sea of Japan can also be enjoyed from the large communal bath.

Guests' taste buds will be satisfied in all seasons with Taiza crab in winter and oysters and sea urchin in summer. Other delicacies such as abalone, local seafood and Japanese wagyu beef can be enjoyed year-round.
Kaiseki cuisine courses are also prepared, using fresh fish from this fishing town.
